Beginners make up kit on budget:

Branded make up products are mighty pricey and if you are a beginner in the world of make up it makes sense to start cheap and slowing climb the price ladder :)

Here iam going to list some essential make up products for the budget minded make up beginners. Hope it helps starters.

Foundation:
This is a very essential product in a make up kit. Even if you dont want coverage, using a foundation evens out complexion adds glow to face and serves as a base for rest of your makeup to last  longer.
The best on budget foundation is Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation which costs around Rs. 185. I recommend this  because for this price it gives great coverage, evens out skin tone plus blends easily into skin. on the flip side it is water based and not sweat proof :( also very low lasting power.
Other alternatives to try :
Lakme daily wear souffle  - 99
Tinted moisturizers like lactoclamine
BB creams for low coverage are  a huge hit these days. Garnier seems the best one. You could also try  Maybelline and ponds BB creams too.

Black Liquid liner : Black liner is a staple , and liquid is the best bet for a budget enthsiast
Lakme Instant Liner and Elle 18 Black Out Liner at super affordable.

Compact:
Lakme Radiance Complexion Compact, is the budget compact out there and honestly i ahvent tried anyother one yet coz this just its job pretty well.

For Eyeshadow Try Maybelline Eye Shadow quad in Chai Latte or the Elle 18 Eye sparklers.

Blush:
Tips and Toes Dual Blush
Jordana Blush
Faces Cream Blush

Mascara: I have used only one kind, and I have very satisfied with it- Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara: Available in two varieties; Waterproof (Rs.275) Lakme Lash Artist Mascara, which costs Rs. 225.
Lipsticks:
Theya re many options available
Elle 18 lipsticks(Rs.100) as they are very sheer,
Street Wear (Rs. 160) as it is very matte or
Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color(Rs. 225)

Kajal:
Hashmi - Super Black, affordable.
Faces kajal
Lotus Herbals
Elle 18 kajal

Lip Gloss:
The New high shine glosses from Maybelline !

for Make up Brushes Try faces Travel Brush Kit

Hope this helps beginners in assembling their makeup kit.

Indian  online shopping is getting better with every passing day! there are so , so many shopping sites out there, i spend loads and loads of my time these days window shopping drooling over products , browsing through different sites.

Though the browsing does have a lightening effect on my bank balance there are some magnificent beauties which just rock my socks off , with that i mean both the product and the price blow me away!

Design your own artsy Anarkali ........

Vintage Indian wear has been revisited and how ! You can spot any and everyone flaunting the anarkali these days , especially the b-town divas have been making waves in this indian attire .

Anarkali are more preferred indian wear at weddings and festivals these days because they are so much easier to handle unlike the heavy lehengas and treat-me-like-a-queen sarees! But Anarkalis are damn expensive and cost a bomb especially hurt your wallet if you are a non-repeater of dresses!

So designing and getting your own anarkali stiched sounds like a better option.

When designing your own anarkali suit it is better to play with colours combinations and fabrics.,  that way you wouldnt have to worry about finding a karigar to do intricate embroidery work with sequins ,stones and kundans. But if you do know a place which excels at this stuff whoaa ! i envy you!

An anarkali has to main parts the bust or the bodice and skirt or the flare portion. The skirt can be designed in many ways, it can be half circled, fullcircled like the umbrella cut or even layered.Try rich fabrics like silk brocades for the bust, while the flare is best attained with flowy fabrics like georgette, crepe, net or chiffon.

I designed my own anarkali and was quite satisfied with the result here is a pic

To materialize this anarkali project you will need

  • 3 meters of light silk brocade in PINK (around 150 per meter)
  • 1/2 meter of slightly rich brocade in green (around 200 per meter)
  • some lace !
  • 51/2 metrs of san tape cloth for lining and chudidaar
  • a crushed pink dupatta
  • a good tailor :D
have a closer look

Ok the suit did come out well and good but i made it into an umbrella cut anarkali flair so it is quite heavy, if you are going for lesser flair you can save on material costs .

The whole dress along with making charges cost me less than 2000 INR ! fab eh ! Iam all out to design a  different dress with lesser flair and more subtle colours.

Inspired ? go raid local fabric stores and go all out design your own anarkali.

Points to note
  • go for half sleeves without lining on sleeves! full sleeves make the dress all heavy
  • to give some more hint of green to dress, go for some green brocade as patch border for flair and dupatta
  • It is very important that your tailor knows what you want, raid the web for some pics to show him
So dazzle a wedding in style which suits your pocket :D
