If i had two extra hours a day , i would tweet away!

Dear Time, please show me how you fly!

I often wish I had extra time in my day. I imagine I’d use it to spend more quality moments with my family or do some yoga and relax, or just lazily sleep off.

But but come to think of it honestly i would perhaps actually end up spending every second of my two extra hours on twitter! Can you imagine the number of tweet i could post, read , Retweet and reply to in two hours! wow!! just the thought of it make me happy :D

Last November i used to be a big fat twitter addict and it was affecting the whole pattern of my life offline so in December 2010 i made this new year resolution to set things straight and get the balance back into my online and offline lives

MY resolution was to get deaddicted from twitter! and for the first time in my life i actually kept a resolution! oh yes i almost got deaddicted ! i so wish i had not made that stupid resolution , coz twitter is a passion for me..

Twitter is terrefic technology and ranks right on top on my list of favorite social networking sites specially because it limits the bullshit to 140 characters . Twitter keeps convos sweet , short and to the point, it redefines the meaning of Wit. The best part about twitter being I can be myself , tweet my mind out . Be rude, be controversial, but be me the REAL me.

Twitter is my source to breaking news, page 3 celeb gossip, platform to incessantly rant, seek advice, a make shift IM, replacement for sms jokes and quotes in short its my window to the world.

Now i mostly catch up when i really have nothing else to do! it is no longer an addiction of sorts and that bores me , to an extent that well iam considering reversing my last year's resolution. come jan 2012 I will make this resolution of getting readdicted to twitter and make sure i keep the resolution and for that ill have a plan A, B and C or even a plan Z! yes iam that desperate! or maybe twitter is that hip . An ipad or a playbook from indiblogger would only help my cause ;)

Also being a twitterrati, killed the blogger in me! If i had those extra 2 hours i would tweet (micro blog) and may be a portion of it be spent on blogging!

Iam so looking forward to 2012 .. to get myself a new resolution and to join the twitterverse in full swing, pop into a controversial discussion and tweet away . Eternal Bliss.

Twitter's sucky ReTweet button! Go manual!

If you are using twitter and tweet from web i.e twitter.com then you'd know about the retweet button and how much it sucks!

Firstly twitter does not give me an option to edit a tweet before Retweeting . This is such a fail. Arent you supposed to explain why you retweeted a particular tweet ? or just add a +1 or -1 to the RT so you can show you agree or disagree with a tweet. I misss adding a tiny bit of commentry like #awesomeness or cool .

I Shared the tweet, i discovered or rather found that tweet in my busy timeline so dont deserve proper credit? Twitter undermines the retweeter by giving tiny credits :(

I tried retweeting a cool tweet about a month ago only to discover protected tweets cant be retweeted !!! Fair? no !

If someone retweets you using this button you will not know ( coz you dont recieve @mentions) untill you visit your tweets retweeted section! how lame. who anyways visits this section? Also if you retweet someone , the someone will not know bout it instantly and you miss a "thanks for RT type of complimets and frankly who does not like compliments ! heck

Sometimes im like who is this stranger in my timeline only to discover the tweet was retweeted by a person iam following!

So well all i wanna say is ive had enough of this button and from now on ill RT the manual way , the way we did it before that button came into existence of better still try using third party apps like tweetdeck because twitter is all about building relationships and that is not what that sucky button promotes.

Trust me the manual Retweet takes time but is totally worth it!

Tips to manual Retweet

-copy a tweet , remove the name of user from betweena dd an RT @ hit tweet!

-if you have issues editing a tweet (so it can fit into 140 chars) then Add MT (modified tweet) instead of RT

Ra.one: Definitely lives up to the hype

Saw ra.one yesterday ... And well it impresses me.

review as an SRK Fanatic :****

to be frank Ra.one has its share of blemishes but you cant deny the fact that this movie takes bollywood to new heights . Being one of the most ambitious movies ever SFX impress you to core but same cannot be said of the story.

highs:

-Action sequences were done nicely with perfect sfx finish

-SRK is convincing and fab as shekar and G.one. kareena also does a good job at acting

-chammak challo, criminal, dildara... awesome music and kareena looks great

-Ra.one's suit

-anti smoking campaign. nice i like it!

-Don2 trailer ... it just leaves me craving for more of SRK ! waiting for xmas

-Armaan as prateek makes a fab debut and his cool long locks make him cute :)

-entry of G.one into real world chasing ra.one , the cars chasing blasting stuff was awesome

If you want a perfect film well this is not for you! And in any case you better stay away from bollywood if you did not like ra.one coz bollywood has nothing good to offer at present. ! trulu ra.one is better than bodygaurd, ready

low:

-Script. Bollywood has everything to compete with hollywood the only 3 other things we need is good scripts, good scripts, good scripts!

-Arjun rampal's screen time ! was he even present in the movie? id ad him to the list of cameos along with sanjay, priyanka and rajni. Arjun Rampal was good but there was so less of him.

-konjum konjum condom jokes! should have been avoided

-the cameos by priyanka, sanjay and rajni are not needed at all and take the story nowhere. The cameos by priyanka and sanjay are just not a good start for the movie

Google and social networking

On september 27th 2011 google turned 13 years old .. a teenager! Lets hope this teen keeps hormone under control !

belated bday wishes to google , and a special thank you for helping me with my assignments! on the eve of its 13th bday i saw a tweet which said

The only thing Google has failed to do, so far, is fail.

what a way to wish the search giant , but hey wait a minute hasnt google failed on the social networking front? Right from orkut to Wave to buzz all have flopped big time. the all new Google+ by far the most ambitious and desperate attempt by google has generated a lot of initial interest especially thanks to their invite-only access, but hasnt the buzz died down?

well i did sign up to google plus after i was sent invites by my friends tried it for a wekk and then well i havent visited it yet!

Reasons iam not too interested in google+

• no time: post on twitter , fb and g+ uff so many networking profiles to maintain ! wasn't life so much easier before when we Indians were hooked only to orkut! lolz. BTW iam still waiting for that perfect app which can integrate all 3 networking sites and simultaneous posting of status updates in simplified
• None of my friends are on it!: Yup even after sending repeated invites none of my real frnds are on g+ yet. Oh forget g+ most of my friends are yet to embrace twitter !
• facebook killer: another reason g+ doesn't interest me so much is the fact that it is fb killer and iam not such a huge fb addict anymore! I think g+ is better than facebook but twitter ? may be not ! atleast yet

Its not that i have completely written of google+ , maybe someday when my real friends are on it ill enjoy it more.

things i love about google+

• photo sharing: Photos shared on g+ look amazing and if you use picassa then this is just for you
• conversations: twitter sucks at conversations coz you cant bundle tweets together and so g+ rocks
• hangouts: This feature is by far the best ! even facebook copied it and copied it quick lol

if youve still not tried google+ , then well i suggest you give it a try and its open for all now :)) here's how you can master google plus !
